Adorable & Easy Coasters!

I love coasters!!! I mean who doesn't - they are so cute!!! I don't necessarily USE them that often ... but I at least like to have them on the coffee table, haha! I saw some that I really loved at Anthropologie but I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much for four coasters! So of course -- I decided to try and make some!! I'm so glad that I did ... it was sooo easy and they turned out so adorable!!!

I made three different sets -- all with different designs! :)

I love these ones!!

How'd I do it? It's so easy you HAVE to try it! They would make such great gifts!!!

I went to Lowe's and bought some plain white tiles - just the most basic, cheap ones they had! Then I headed over to Michaels and bought some cute scrapbook paper and felt!

My tiles were 4 1/4 inche squares - so I cut the felt squares a little smaller (4x4) and mod podged them to the bottom of the tile! I used brown felt because it matched my paper choice (not that you can see it really) - so you could do any color! Then I cut and measured the scrapbook paper into 4 x4 squares ... and mod podged them! Learn from my mistakes -- the key is to use a THIN layer of mod podge -- otherwise the paper buckles (I sorta ruined the first one, booo :( )! After that I put a top coat of mod podge then sprayed with a finisher I picked up at Michaels! :)

That's it! You're done! Now sit back and drink some coffee on your cute new coaster! :)

I've already got 2 sets packaged ready to give as gifts -- I can't say who they are for because they might be reading this, but I hope they love them!!

  1. What kind of finisher did you use?
