Last week I was shopping at JoAnn Fabrics (its my new home away from home) -- and this older lady started talking to me while we were waiting in line! She was asking what I was making & how long I had been sewing, etc! I told her all the things I was "trying" to make and that I'd only been sewing for 7 days but that I was really loving it - blah blah blah! She said she loved my attitude and ambition and left the store.
End of Story.
Just kidding!
She did leave -- but then she came back in with a piece of paper with her name and number! She said that she could no longer see to thread the needle (sad!) and that she'd been sewing for 50+ years -- but was done and that she had a TON of fabric left over that I was more than welcome to have if I wanted it!
Heck yeah I wanted it!!! If you're not a sewer (like I have all this expereince, HAHA) but fabric is EXPENSIVE! :)
So last week, I gave her a call -- stopped by and picked up two HUGE trashbags of fabric!! :) She was so excited that I called and I was so happy to take it off her hands!
Now I just have to find a place to store all this fabric in our tiny apartment! :)

I love your story! I too am a pretty novice sewer, but I've got the bug for sure. This past summer my Grandma sent me home with a tote full of fabric and I was over the moon!!
