Beautifully Simple Vintage Inspired Burlap & Lace Wreath

I see Fabric Wall Art everywhere! It's adorable and very inexpensive ... so I decided to make some for a bare wall in the living room! It turned out like this ...

BOORRRINNG!! right?
I hate it.
Maybe it was my bad choice in fabric but I really didn't like it.
So it's been like this for 3 weeks now ... waiting for some inspiration.

And today I got some!
I was cleaning up my craft room and found several wreaths!
:) So as soon as monkey man went down for his morning nap, I got to work!

Now it looks like this ...

Oh I loooveee it! It's simple. It's classic. It's SOOOO much better!! :)
and the best part? I had everything on hand ... so it didn't cost me anything!!

Want to know how to make it??
It's easy, I promise!
Hopefully you'll be able to follow my Tutorial - It's my first! :)

What you need:

A wreath (i didn't even take the wrapping off mine!)
Burlap Scraps (I cut mine about 2.5" x 18")
Lace (or Whatever Fabric you want) for Rosettes
Buttons, Eyelets or whatever you want in center of Rosette.
Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks.

Take one long scrap of fabric and glue it on.

and begin wrapping the Burlap around the wreath, gluing occassionally.
Make sure you that pull the burlap tightly.

Keep wrapping.

This is the back view of my wreath - see the seam.
I didn't want any of the 'seams' to be on the front, so I cut my scraps as I went.

That's it for the wreath!
See, easy!

Now onto the Rosettes ...
There are a million tutorials out there, so pick whichever way you like.

I took a piece of felt and cut three different sized circles.
Cut whichever size you would like your rosettes to be.

Then take your lace (or ribbon) and glue it on the outside of the circle.
I glue about 1" at a time.

Keep wrapping around the felt in a circle until you get the shape of the rosette you want.
Add a pretty vintage button from your grandma - or whatever you like!

Hot Glue them onto the wreath and voila! :)
You're done!

I used Ribbon & a small nail to attach to the wood of the canvas!

Hang it up and enjoy! :)
and just beacuse I love this wreath so much ...

Before:

Boring & Bland.

After:
Adorned with a beautiful burlap & lace wreath!

LOVE.

Oh - and I made her a friend ...

I just took a long piece of ribbon and hot glued shells & a spray painted Starfish! Easy!

I love the texture these add to the Fabric art!

Please let me know if you have any questions! :)

I'm currently working on SUPER easy Fabric Pumpkins, so check back!!
