5-4-3-2-1 ....

How many days until Halloween, you ask?

Oh well let me just take at a peak at my new handy Halloween countdown ...

Yup, 21 days!
Woooo Hooo!

I've seen countdown blocks everywhere and I just love them!

I wanted some of my own ...
but I didn't have any square wood scraps and I didn't feel like sewing adorable ones like these!

So when I saw these at the Dollar Store ...
I knew they were perfect!!

Yup - I used Floral Foam Blocks for $1 each!

I picked up some Halloween scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby ...

I cut out 12 squares the size of the sides
and mod podged them on all 6 sides of each block.

*TIP: I would try Hot Glue or Gorilla Glue - the Mod podge was frustrating to work with on this project due to the texture of the foam block.

I'm Lazy and since I don't have a Silhouette YET
 (hint hint MOM or TARZAN)
I just bought some numbers from the Hardware section at Wamart for $1.74!

I stuck them on my Mod-Podged Blocks ...

and Voila! :)
That's it!
Now you have countdown blocks that cost less than $4.00 and took about 30 minutes of your time! Not Bad!

They are sitting pretty on my Mantle -
with all the other Halloween pretties ...
just waiting for the 31st!! :)

  1. Very cute! I'm trying to decide if I want to ask for a Cricut for Christmas. I'm pretty sure I do, but I need to convince myself a little bit more.

  6. Just hopping over from Today's Creative Juices. This is a simple and perfect project. My little toddlers would love it!
I want a Silhouette too, especially for the heat transfer sheets for clothing. Too many possibilities!
