{Christmas Craft Week: Day 1 - Christmas Tree Crayons}

As Thankful as I am & as much as I love food ...
I've made the decision to bypass Thanksgiving decorations around here!!
Life has just been sooo crazy and we're headed to Texas for some Turkey...

so I'm going straight to Christmas! Fa la la la la la la.
Yes, I have Christmas music playing right now!
Don't Judge! You know you want too! :)

everyday this week, I'll be bringing you an easy, inexpensive Christmas crafts!
So let's get started! :)

{DAY 1: Christmas Tree Crayons}
*Sorry for the poor quality pictures, it was late, the lighting was bad & I was tired. :)

Wouldn't the little one in your life LOVE to color with these
cute Christmas Tree crayons?

What you need:
- Silicone Mold (Michael's, $9.99 - use 40% coupon)
- Crayons

1. Peel all the labels off your crayons (like so) ...

2. Break your crayons into small pieces -
I used two crayons per tree and organized them by color
(you could also just mix them all up)

3. Place the mold on an old cookie sheet!
This makes it much easier to manipulate.
In case they spill you don't want to ruin a good one!

4. Bake in the oven at 250 degrees for 20 minutes -
or until they are all melted.

5. Let cool and then remove from tray -
they will fall out easily from the silicone mold.

6. Put them in a cute clear bag with a ribbon and a little notepad.

Perfect Gift for the little artist in your life!

I like to party - click here to come with! :)

  11. I love love love this idea and, after sending it to my sister to see if she'd think my nieces would like some crafty Christmas crayons she suggested we make them for my youngest niece's Kindergarten class. Well, the third batch is in my oven and I'm loving them!!! Quick tip for those wanting to make some, check out your local dollar store. We got 64pks of crayons for $1 each and even though we're using 3 crayons per tree we only needed 3 boxes to make a couple for each kid... super excited! When I'm finished i'll post the results on my blog http://jvbennett.blogspot.com . Thanks for all of your great ideas!!

  13. Those look so fun! I have a star silicone muffin mold. If I use that will I be able to use it again for muffins? or do the crayons ruin the mold?
