Christmas Craft Week: Day 4 - JOY Dish Towel

Yeah - so I totally just skipped Day 3!
Life got the best of me! SORRY! :)
But i have a super fun giveaway for tomorrow,
and that will make up for it! I Promise! :)
So let's get on with day 4 ....

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing.

Joy indeed!
I thought this Christmas Dish Towel
would be a perfect way to help us remember the real
reason for the season!

I do, afterall, spend the majority of my day in the kitchen!
and don't those colors just make you smile?
Ohhh, hello Christmas! I've missed you!

Want to make one?
What you need:
- Dish Towel
- Christmas Fabric
- Wonder Under/Heat N
- Coordinating Thread
- Pom Pom Trim

1. Pin the pom pom trim to the bottom edge of your dish towel. I left mine on top, because I wanted it to show - but you could also sew it on the back and just let the pom poms hang down!

hint: I used green on the top and red for my bobbin thread, so the back stayed nice.

2. Cut out the letters JOY - I just started cutting because I wanted them to have "character" but you could trace a stencil or print letters off the Internet to help you. I used three different fabrics with wonder under on the back.

3. Follow the directions for whatever adhesive you are using -- mine said to use a damp cloth and press for 15 seconds.

4. Stitch around the letters and that's it! You're done!

and then make a few more, because it's fun & fast!

You can add buttons, ric rac - anything you're {big} heart desires! :)

and if you're feeling super fancy ---
you could make it a 'hanging dish towel'!

Bake a batch of cookies -
and these would make such great gifts for neighbors, teachers, etc!

Don't forget to enter the Little Green Books Giveaway going on now
and check back tomorrow for another great Christmasy giveaway! :)
