Feeling Inspired!

There are some SERIOUSLY amazingly creative people out there!!

I am feeling sooo "inspired"!!
My "bookmark" list of crafts is about 10 pages long!

Some things I'm currently working on:
(I LOVE having a garage -- I've taken it over!!)

1. Old Coffee table turned End of Bed Bench.
2. Dresser turned entertainment center.
3. Sewing Table Refinishing Project
4. DIY Headboards for our beds
5. Nelson's Nursery (on a budget)

So, Stay Tuned!! :)
Lots of exciting things & new ideas!!

DIY: Reupholster Breakfast Chairs

We moved into our rental house on June 5th.
and almost one month later,
we still don't have ANY of our furniture!
(the Navy movers are SLOW!!
UUUGGGGHHHH, seriously slow.)

So we needed a few key items!
A bed & a table! :)
So, where do you find all these things??
On a budget!?
Craigslist, of course!

I searched long and hard
and finally found this beauty ...
George wanted Glass.
But I didn't want too modern.
This was perfect.
It was traditional, yet funky. and fun.
Just what we wanted!

Only problem --
the seat cushions were in bad shape.
Like Clear Duct tape bad shape.
Eww.

They just needed a little TLC!

I purchased some Waverly fabric from JoAnns,
a staple gun & screwdriver from Walmart
and got started!!

It was SOOOO easy!!
and SO fun!!
I just want to reupholster everything now!!

Here's the finished product!

Good bye Clear Tape!
Hello, Handsome!

The picture is awful but I love the fabric!
It's green, yellow and cream striped!

I'm envisioning a delightful lemon/lime centerpiece!

Stupid Oil.

We were able to sneak in a little beach time
before the oil washed in.
and they are as beautiful as everyone says.
Oh, that clear water & glorious white sand.

And now it's black.
Thanks BP.

But Seriously ...
Please continue to keep the
Gulf Coast in your prayers.

We've only been here a month,
but it's "home" for the time being
and it's in bad shape. :(

Home Sweet Home.

Home Sweet Home
(for the next year anyway -
Home is where the Navy sends us!)

So it doesn't have a white picket fence
and the landscaping needs a little work!

But we do have a two-car garage
and LOTS of space!
and I love it!

(and now I get to decorate it!)
I'll be posting all about it -
so make sure you check back!

Good ol' Southern Hospitality!

The doorbell rang today!!
(I love that we actually have a doorbell!)

And guess who it was?

The next door neighbor!
And she was holding a PIE!
A delicious, hot, warm apple pie!

How perfect is that??
It was a scene right of Joan Clever's book
and I love it!
This neighborhood makes me a smile.

I would have invited her in for Coffee/Tea ...
but we don't have furniture or tea cups. Or Coffee.
Shame.
Next time!!

MONDAY SMILES!!

Do you have a case of the Mondays?

Not for long!

How cute is he?

Seriously.

He makes my heart smile!!

Newport was Beautiful.
The weather was perfect.
The weekend was a whirlwind.

but most importantly --

I got to be with George!
and it was AMAZING!!!

The whole weekend was such a
wonderful whirlwind of wonderfulness!
(how's that for alliteration?) :)

I felt so incredibly proud!
I felt so wonderfully Blessed.
My husband rocks!!
and he's handsome, too! ;)
