Date Night Birthday Idea!

Nope, still no internet!
... which has definitely been good for my productivity!

Our house is almost unpacked!!!
I've hung pictures on the wall,
sewn new curtains,
made throw pillows,
painted Monkey Man's dresser
and put the new crib together!

But I don't have pictures of all that yet ...
so I thought I would share this!!

Today is the hub's birthday!
(Happy Birthday Hubs!)
and I decided to give him "dates".
you know, so he has no excuse! :)
and it benefits me!

I preplanned four dates --
I would have done more, but we will be moving 4 months!

August is date night at the movies!
I just left cash in each envelope for whatever we are doing!

Baby #2 will be making his debut the end of August,
so September will be an "at home" kind of date night! :)
Papa Murphy's Pizza and Red Box!

Some other dates ...
- Picnic & Wine on the Beach
- Wild Card with cash -- I'm thinking putt putt!

I added it all in a little basket --
with his favorite candy! :)

Craft Room Sneak Peak.

I lost my HUGE craft "closet" in the new house! :(
but I'm ok with that ....
because I've just combined the guest room and craft room!
(sorry guests!)
and I'm actually loving the way it is coming along! :)
(now if only we were going to be in this house for more than 5 months!)
ugh, flight school - I am ready to be done with you.

Want a sneak peak?

For the first time ever, I wasn't afraid of color! :)
and I'm so glad because it makes me sooo happy!
I can't wait to show you the rest!
(and I can't wait to get internet!!)

Life these days ...

Wondering what I've been doing since I'm not blogging?

Well I've been doing a lot of this ...
We're almost done in fact!!! YAY!
but we have (unpacked) boxes everywhere!
and I HATE breaking down boxes! :(

p.s. when I was little I dreamed of a "fancy" 2 story house...
Well, now that I'm 9 months pregnant with a toddler that won't climb stairs --
I'm cursing that dream ...

We're also going though all the baby stuff,
getting ready for the arrival of baby #2!
and it takes forever -- because I have to look at every outfit!
I can't believe how tiny Nelson used to be! :)
(p.s. I'm full term - ahhhhhhhhhh! slow.down.SO.not.ready)

I'm also distracting myself with a LOT of fun projects that involve spray paint!
don't these colors make you happy?! :)

and I'm drinking LOTS of water --
because a. swollen cankles are NOT cute. EVER.
and b. South Texas is HOT. like ridiculously hot.

so that's what you are missing around here! :)

We get Internet August 1st!
Whooo Hooo!

I'm alive ... barely.

I'm alive.
{but barely}

We moved into our house on Friday.
whoo hoo.
but they are missing SEVERAL crates of stuff.

We still don't have internet.
It's a 10 day wait for installation.
seriously? 10 days! UGHHH!
don't they know I have blogging to do?????

I've been sick. like REALLY sick!
The baby is sick. :(
and the hubs is super busy studying.

We're piled high with boxes.
and the movers broke my sewing machine.

But I've been working on a few projects and I can't wait to show you!
one day ...
so stick around!
I'll be back!
I promise!
Hopefully very very soon!

I miss my blog and I miss y'all!!!

The end of a Gypsy Life.

Our five weeks of Gypsy living are coming to end.

Thank goodness.....
because I'm not sure I could do it for much longer.

I'm sick of hotels and couches.
Nelson needs his schedule back.
I want my things.
I'm actually excited about unpacking!
and I never want to eat Fast Food again.
(ok, at least not this week, haha!)

Move in day is tomorrow!!
 whoo hooo!!!

I can't wait to start decorating.
I have SO many ideas.
so many cans of spray paint that need to be used!
and SO little time.
+/- 5 weeks until Baby #2.
18 weeks until our NEXT move.
holy moly.
Ready or not ... life is about to get crazy!

oh and I bought some FABULOUS curtains at Target today for $5 each --
I can't wait to show you what I'm making!!!

PVC Pipe Fun!

I'm really loving PVC Projects right now!!
There are seriously so many cool projects that I want to make!
(all images are from Pinterest)

These camp chairs are fabulous!

and I love this outdoor cabana!
I love how the metallic spray paint changes the look!

or this storage unit for crafts -- so cute! and practical.

What a fun modern wine rack from martha stewart!
A little spray paint and this would be so fun!

I can't wait to build Nelson this reading nook!

and this sprinkler from Family Fun may be my favorite!

Baby #2 is due in 5 weeks .... think I'll have time to make any or all of these?

Spray Paint Projects: Coffee Table

I'm not shy about my love for RustOleum around here ...
and remember how I mentioned I was sprucing up my Mom's Vacation house?

I started with this coffee table ...

great shape, solid wood - just not the prettiest thing you've ever seen!
{plus all that wood & black was a little "heavy" for the room!}

but after a few cans of RustOleum's Heirloom White --

We went from this ...
 to this ...

What a difference a few cans of spray paint makes!

Did you notice the TV stand in the background got a makeover too?
You can check that out here.

but I borrowed a sewing machine from a friend -
and bought a glue gun ....
so I've been doing a little crafting to pass the time!!

Little girls stuff is so much fun! :)
I just LOVE ruffles and fabric flowers!

These boots are made for walking

 Howdy from Texas!
{please ignore the lack of make-up and messy hair - I'm 8 months pregnant and it's HOT}

The hubs and I -- well, we're Texans!
{ok actually - we're "wannabe" Texans}
correction --I'm an East Coast Girl all the way --but if I can't live on the South Carolina Coast -
then Texas is the next best thing!
but both of our boys will be "real" Texans!!
and I can't tell you how happy my husband is about that!

and now that we're back here,
we thought we'd do what REAL Texans do ..
and buy Cowboy boots!

So last night we headed to the land of cowboy boots ..
Cavender's Boot City.
It's HUGE!
(like a whole block HUGE!)

I have seriously NEVER seen so many cowboy boots in my entire life.

and these are just TWO of the 100 aisles+ they have!
It's unbelievable.
They have every color imaginable!
and every style.

I'm not sure how one decides on THE perfect pair!
I couldn't even narrow it down to three.

How stinkin' cute are these baby boots?
Monkey Man DEFINITELY needs a pair!

oh but let's not forget the cowboy hats!
and like the boots - you've got options ...
maybe black is more your style?!

and every real cowboy has a belt buckle!

apparently the shinier the better? ha. I'm not sure about that.

So next time you find yourself in Texas ...
embrace your inner cowboy and go boot shopping!

It'll be an "adventure" for sure ...
and it's true --
Everything is bigger in Texas!

Now I'm off to rope some cattle ...
and line dance ... and eat Brisket.
and do other "Texas" things.

yeah right.
I'm off to do some shopping & then go to the Aquarium.
I've already failed as a Texan.
Sorry hubs - I tried.
In the end, my boots are just for looks.
because I'll always be a Carolina Girl!

I need YOU!

Where has the time gone???
little monster monkey #2 will be here VERY soon!
{as in 6 weeks or less soon}
 We still don't have a house ---
(only 10 more days in the hotel - thank goodness!)
I still haven't found a doctor here that has any openings.
and our car seat is packed with all our other in temporary storage.

But I'm not going to panic.
It will all work out! :)

Keep Calm and Carry on, right?

and unfortunately, you can't help me with ANY of the above.
BUT you can help me!!
I'm looking for guest posters during my "maternity leave"!
{because I've forgotten how demanding newborns are!}

Do you have a craft tutorial that you would love to share?
Want to do a giveaway?
A fun craft idea for kids?
Home organizing tips?
A delicious recipe we MUST try?
Have a series you'd like to host?

Well I want to hear any and all ideas!

Sneaky Peak.

Remember how I spent a day hanging out with this girl last week?
Well, we had a blast!
{She's even more awesome in real life, if that's possible!}
oh and her house is even more fabulous too!!
and yes - her kids are that adorable!

We shopped and chatted and crafted and even used power tools!
{in between changing diapers & temper tantrums of course}

But here's a little sneak peak of one of our projects ....

I can't wait to show you the rest! :)
{I just have to finish it!}

Happy 4th + Easy Craft!

Happy 4th of July!

I'd like to send out a HUGE Thank You to all those who sacrifice, so that we may live in the FREE country that we do!
Because we all know that Freedom isn't Free!
Not even close.
and we are so blessed to live in the country that we do.
Here's a super simple 4th of July craft that I plan on leaving up all year!
 A beadboard flag!

I got my inspiration here!
{Brown Paper Packages is an amazing blog if you haven't checked it out!}

I found this small thing of beadboard in the "clearance" pile @ Lowe's for .51.

I just used some paint I had on hand ...
so this project caught less than a $1.00!
I added a wooden star from Michaels.
I'm not sure where it will live ... but I like it!
I also want to add some trim but for now - it's good enough!

Be safe!
