Slip N Slides are a summertime staple ...
but they tend to break easily and are kind of expensive!
Luckily, you can make your own! :) For $14.
First I went to Home Depot and picked up a roll of plastic sheeting.
It was $9.98 - 10 ft x 25 ft and 3.5 ML
(at Lowe's they are in the roofing section on the last aisle)

Then I headed to Wal-Mart and picked up some Tent Stakes for $4!
Now go to the Dollar Store and pick up several bottles of baby wash.
Regular Soap will hurt their eyes! :) Trust me!
I cut my sheet to save some for later -- 10x25 is REALLY big!
Stick the 4 stakes in each corner!
Make sure you push them down far - you don't want anyone getting hurt!

Now turn on the hose and let them run wild ...
I also made a DIY PVC Pipe Sprinkler
(Tutorial coming soon).
(Tutorial coming soon).
There were no rips or tears -
just a lot of laughs and fun!
It would have lasted several more days ...
but my husband is a little crazy about the grass -
and the sun would have cooked it after too long! :(
This will definitely be a summertime staple around here!
Want to throw the perfect sprinkler party?

ReplyDeleteYes! You definitely want the baby wash to make it slippery! Otherwise, it's a little painful! ;)

How fun! We made one of these when I was a kid, back when the "wet banana" first came out, my mom was super frugal so we just used the black plastic tarp that we used undr our tent. Funny to see someone do it now a days!
