Celebrate It: Halloween Party Food Ideas

Earlier today I posted the fun games we played at the Halloween Playgroup Party.

Now I thought I would show you the food ... and y'all, there was a LOT of food. I asked that everyone bring a Halloween-themed snack to share and my friends totally rocked it.
It was like Pinterest threw up on our table. In a good way of course!

So here we go ....

Halloween Cupcakes.

and obviously chocolate googley eyes are a must.

 some yummy Mummy Munch
(Pretzels, Marshmallows, Halloween M&M's and Cheeze-its)

 Chocolate Covered Pretzels.

 Thin Mint Witch Cookies.

 A Veggie Skeleton!

Mummy Pizzas!

Mummy Dogs!

Frankenstein Pudding Cups with crushed Oreos.

There was also chips and dip and fruit with a delicious Pumpkin Dip.
I told you -- A LOT!
and SO CUTE! :)

The beverage table was relatively simple.
Cute paper straws and pumpkin orange cups ...
Mummy Juice Boxes ...
I used Muslin, googley eyes and some hot glue!

Water bottles with spooky Bat labels.
The green is celophane wrapping paper from $1 Store and Vinyl Bats (using Silhouette).
Oh and let's not forget the yummy Punch for the mommas,   aka Witches Brew.
7 Up, Limeade & Lime Sherbert.

So there you have it -- the whole spread!

Happy Halloween!!!

Oh and the pictures that look especially nice ... they weren't taken by me. ;)
They were taken my awesome friend with Whitney Ward Photography!

Celebrate it: Halloween Party Games

I hosted a Playgroup Halloween Party last week!
It was loads of fun ...
until everyone that came caught an awful stomach bug. :(

I came up with a few, easy, inexpensive games that the kids loved.

First up --
Pumpkin Bowling!
To throw this fun party game together, all you need is six old paint cans (or even soup cans would work), some Halloween scrap book paper, packaging tape to attach the paper and vinyl numbers (completely optional)! You could also do ghost/Frankenstein faces.
Oh - and a pumpkin of course! ;)
The "big boys" loved this one!

Next up --
Halloween Bucket Toss.
I picked up three buckets at Michaels for .49 on sale --

and sewed some simple Bean Bags.

We lined up the buckets. Filled the bottom with candy. And let them toss.
The number of points determined the number of candy.
You could easily do a million variations of this with/without candy!
Then there was the {simple} craft table ...
Crayons in a baby food jars (decorated black ribbon hot glued on)
and Halloween wooden cut-outs for the kiddos to color.
(I bought them on Clearance at JoAnn for about .18/each)

Then there was the "Build a Pumpkin" Station.
Orange paper plates, construction paper cut-outs and glue sticks.
So simple.

and I saved my favorite for last --
Pin the BOW TIE on the skeleton!
I bought an orange skeleton from the Dollar Store.
and cut out vinyl Bow ties with my Silhouette.
This game is a classic and the kids loved it!
I picked up some prizes at the Dollar Store -
A pirate sword and Eye Patch for the boy winner ...
and a Pink Boa and Microphone for the girl.
Totally worth the $4, they kids LOVED it!

Oh and then I had this "game" for the adults --
with a prize from Bath & Body Works!
Because seriously - I don't play games if there isn't something to win, haha.

So any fun party games I left out?!

Halloween + the Bug.

I'm sorry I've been a little MIA ...
I was busy working on projects for a Fun Playgroup Halloween Party.
and cleaning my {messy} house --
because we had about 10 mommies and 20+ kids!
and there is nothing like house guests to kick your butt in cleaning gear.
Note to self: NEVER mop before that many monsters invade your house.
Then the night of the party, I came down with a terrible stomach bug.
and so did Wild Man.
(Little H somehow evaded it - thank goodness!!!)
And the hubs was gone -- so I was flying solo.
I'll spare you all the pukey details ...
but needless to say, it was miserable.
Parenting while sick is NOT fun. :(
and my once clean house looks like a dump.
full of crushed pretzels, goldfish and toys.
(or anything else I could throw at them while I lay on the couch throwing up)

But, on a positive note --
 The party was really fun!
I can't wait to show you all the "spooky" details --
the games, the food, the fun!

Happy {early} Halloween!

Craft It: Halloween Bat Art

Are you ready for the easiest Halloween project ever?
It will cost you about $3 (maybe less) and take less than 10 minutes!
excuse the bad lighting ... I took these super late in night!
Here's what you need:
A thrift store/dollar store frame with glass removed
Scrap piece of fabric (about 10x12 inches, if 8x10 Frame)
Halloween Wooden Shapes from Hobby Lobby or Michaels (.59/each)
(or you could for a silhouette affect and use black paper you already have)
A glue gun.

You'll want to start by wrapping your fabric around an 8x10 cardboard piece.
Then hot glue it.
Now glue on your little "silhouettes".
I choose the .59 bats from Michaels.
Now put it in the frame and that's it!
I told you it was easy!
8 minute easy.
Can't beat that!

It's Preppy.
and a little Spooky.
Is that even possible?
and perfect decorations for your friendly Halloween Party!
