Then I looked down at my cup and saw this .... My MAP coasters that I made my husband for our anniversary in April, way before I received this email from Martha..
Two things went through my head ...
I guess I'm not as creative as I thought. Tear.
But then I snapped out of my pity party & thought well dang Gina! I may not be original -- but I must have good taste.
I mean, this IS Martha Stewart we're talking about! :)
Mine aren't exactly the same - but they are SO simple and would make GREAT gifts!!
Plus, who doesn't love a good map project!? :)
Especially if you can find maps with meaning!
I started with 6 of these floor sample squares from the Big Orange.
This is what they look like from the front ..
and the back ...
p.s. They are FREE. :) Whoop Whoop!
p.p.s some have a nice felt cushion on the back. :)
I used my Miter Saw to cut off that little "edge" on the left!
Then I cut up some old flight maps that belonged to my husband when we were stationed in Pensacola, Florida ...
I adhered the maps with Matte Mod Podge!
Let that dry and then added a few top coats to seal them ...
and that's it!
Adorable (and meaningful) coasters!
So what project is your inner Martha working on?
Don't you hate it when you think you're SO original and you're just NOT. :) haha.
