Toddler Fun: Bathtub target practice

It's Summer.
It's Raining.
It's hot.
and my kids are BORED.
{oh and I'm 7.5 months pregnant}
 and I needed something {easy} to keep them from dumping out all the pretzels.
and crushing the packaging peanuts.
and ripping their light out of the wall.
{all of which happened in about 45 minutes yesterday morning}
So I had an idea ...
 Yup. Good 'ol Target practice.
This is seriously so simple.
{remember I'm 7.5 pregnant. It's hot. and raining. so I'm basically useless}

The best part?
This entertained my 3.5 and {almost} 2 year old for 45 minutes.
{which is basically forever in toddler time}
All you need is a spray bottle and some targets.
I drew some "targets" (with a sharpie) on contact paper that I had laying around.
 {Dollar Tree sells contact paper & spray bottles!}
Then I gave them the water bottles and let them loose ...

Wild Man requested a bad guy to shoot.
This is what he got ...
 {I told you I wasn't feeling super motivated}
This was SO easy and the boys had SO much fun.
 But their favorite part was trying to drink the water! ;)
We've also done something similar outside last summer ...
you can check that out here.

How do you keep your kids entertained in the summer?

  1. What a fun idea! It's been well over 90 degrees here all week with the heat index even higher because of the 100% humidity so this is perfect for indoors or outdoors!
